Phased Array Crack Sizing Using the OmniScan MX2

Precision phased array crack sizing improves on traditional conventional UT inspection techniques through use of beam focusing and improved crack tip imaging. This webinar is intended to demonstrate use of common crack sizing techniques and best practices for optimizing the OmniScan MX2 for manual and semi-automated crack detection and sizing. Covered topics include OmniScan sector scan setup and calibration, phased array setup for shear wave tip diffraction, high angle long wave inspection, ID creeping wave inspection, and use of advanced probes for austenitic materials. The Webinar will demonstrate crack sizing A-B-C's using the OmniScan MX2 live, and also include analysis of sample crack data files using OmniPC and latest software.

There will be a brief review of the previous Webinar that leads into the current topics. This will combine sector scan basics, and MX2 displays readings, and parameters in preparation for a manual sector scan weld inspection.
