Weld Inspection Solutions

Our full range of weld inspection solutions provides unmatched capabilities for applications that include the location and sizing of hidden cracks, voids, disbonds, and similar discontinuities in welds, forgings, turbines, and other structural components. We offer a wide range of measurement features and application-specific software options.

Weld Series Probes

Weld inspection probes offer housings combined with a front or top exit cable to avoid interference with the scanner probe holder. These probes are suitable for manual and automated inspections of welds. The NEW A31 and A32 Weld Series phased array probes and wedges simplify and standardize weld inspections with fewer designs, and improve signal-to-noise ratio.

Carbon Steel Plates and Pipes

Ultrasonic (UT), time-of-flight-diffraction (TOFD), and phased array (PA) testing on plates and large diameter carbon steel pipes can be used alone or in combination to achieve full-weld coverage with high probability of detection.

Carbon Steel Small Pipes

Phased array (PA)testing on small diameter carbon steel pipes using HydroFORM™, RexoFORM™ and the Dual Linear Array™ (DLA) probe enable inspectors to be more productive and collect higher resolution data with fully encoded C-Scan imaging.

TOFD Solution

The OmniScan MX2 2-channel conventional ultrasound module (UT2) can be used for TOFD (Time-of-Flight Diffraction) inspections. It features higher pulser voltages (340 V), increased PRF capabilities, and dramatically improved signal-to-noise ratio.

Austenitic, Nickel, and Other Coarse Grain Alloy

Dual Matrix Array (DMA) probes used in tandem configuration generate transmit-receive longitudinal waves (TRL). This technique is less affected by beam degradation and offers significant signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) improvement on austenitic and sound-attenuating materials.
