Overview
Supplied with magnetic and suction cup mounting bases, the wire encoder is easy to install on ferromagnetic and nonferromagnetic surfaces. It’s the tool of choice for training and procedure development, and the wire encoder can even be used on site to perform inspections when using other scanners is impractical. A wire encoder system is unique compared to most manual scanners as its core is fixed to the part so that it remains stationary as the user moves the probe. This provides several advantages:

Universal HolderUse the universal holder to attach the wire encoder or Mini-Wheel™ encoder in up to three different orientations to most phased array (PA) wedges. Installation is quick and easy, and no tools are required. The universal holder can also be attached directly to a phased array probe, enabling contact inspection when the use of a wedge is impossible. |
