Webinar: Introduction to WeldSight Software: Part 2 - Analysis

WeldSight Software

Advanced phased array (PA) weld inspection often requires operators to navigate complex software that is time-consuming and difficult to learn. WeldSight software for our FOCUS PX PA system makes engineering code-compliant weld inspections more efficient with a shorter training track.

WeldSight software combined with the FOCUS PX system provides a logical, streamlined workflow for repetitive, high-production PA weld inspections in many applications, such as wind towers, API tanks, ASME piping\vessels, and friction stir welding (FSW) of aerospace materials.

In this webinar, you’ll get an overview of WeldSight software and see how it streamlines your workflow for inspection engineering, setup, calibration, acquisition, and weld flaw analysis. Learn more about the time-saving features as we demonstrate:

  • Integration of the Eclipse Scientific BeamTool to manage components, probes, wedges, and scan plans
  • New intuitive calibration tools, including multi-point simultaneous TCG construction
  • Custom acquisition displays, such as weld gates
  • Advanced flaw analysis

Introduction to WeldSight Software: Part 2 - Analysis

Part two of the Introduction to WeldSight Software series puts an emphasis on phased array and time-of-flight diffraction (TOFD) flaw analysis of FOCUS PX and OmniScan™ X3 inspection data. A demonstration of the analysis workflow in WeldSight software will be given, including a review of acquisition parameters and the use of data displays for the detection, sizing, and acceptance decision of typical flaws in API LNG tank dissimilar metal welds, ASME pressure vessels and piping, ISO wind tower, and in-service cracking typical of IGSCC and HTHA. Unique considerations for the analysis of the OmniScan X3 flaw detector’s PA and TOFD data are explained, including the benefits of 16-bit resolution acquisitions for precision flaw sizing and characterization.
