An advanced Phased Array Training Course designed for Level II, Level III and NDE Management and Supervisory personnel. This course will present ultrasonic Phased Array Advanced Weld Inspection, and Crack Sizing Techniques using Tip Diffraction. These Phased Array methods can be applied to piping, plate, and vessel components in petroleum, chemical, fossil, nuclear, and aerospace industries or any industry involved in ultrasonic examination of metallic product forms.
This "hands-on" practical Phased Array course includes shear wave techniques using Sectorial and Electronic Scans with A, B, and C Scans, as well as, S Scans for flaw evaluation and sizing.
Phased Array Sizing applications will cover Time of Flight (TOF) and Delta Time of Flight methods using Crack Sizing Tip Diffraction. These methods are very effective for sizing shallow, mid wall or deep flaws that are inside diameter connected (ID) or outside Diameter (OD) connected.
Angle Beam Phased Array Probes using Electronic and Sectorial Scans will be applied for the sizing methods. Due to the high dampening, these Phased Array probes are capable of resolving cracks with a depth (height) of about 0.040 inches (1 mm), or less.
