In order to complement and expand the functionality of the i-SPEED PL camera body - a range of bespoke accessories have been produced to suit the demanding needs of the creative media market.

Handles

For hand-held shooting a front handle has been produced which balances the rear, integral handle. When combined with the CDU this permits extremely versatile operation - something that has been described as "guerrilla filming".
A top handle extends from the front handle to assist with carrying the camera body around on location. The addition of external batteries, monitors and lense increases the weight of the system and the top handle allows the camera to be carried comfortably and securely.
When you need to add additional monitors and fully "dress" the camera body, a rear bar can be attached to the handle to secure the camera body and accessories.

Riser Plate

Allowing for the off-set of the height of the camera body, a riser plate has been produced to allow connection to ARRI rails (both 15mm and 19mm).

CDU Bracket

It can be useful to mount the CDU ontop of the camera body, allowing you to control the camera but also to set the scene and also adjust focus. There are two positions for CDU mounting.

PAG V-lock Plates

For users wanting to extend battery life (the camera body has an internal 1 hour battery), PAG V-lock plates are available for the camera body. The combination permits hot-swapping of external batteries to ensure continuous camera operation.

Weatherproof Cover

If shooting in damp/ dusty conditions a durable weatherproof cover is available - keeping the system useable.

Shipping Case

The camera body and accessories are supplied in a single, rugged, shippable case.

CDU (Contoller Display Unit)

The unique Olympus CDU incorporates a large 8.4" high resolution LCD monitor, giving the user a compact and easy to operate system. No extra monitor or PC is required for operation. The CDU may be mounted to the camera body to aid focusing and scene selection.

The CDU provides an intuitive, all new, broadcast dedicated and user-friendly menu structure, allowing the operator access to all of the i-SPEED PL camera features. Settings can be changed by the simple press of a button - change the frame rate and shutter, record and then instantly review the action before deciding to store the clip on the compact flash card or re-shoot the scene. Save only what you need to optimize download speeds and data file size.

RCP (Remote Control Pad)

If using an EVF or external monitor, the RCP may be used to navigate the camera menus to provide full control of the i-SPEED PL camera.

The i-SPEED PL is supplied with HSV2 frames software free of charge. This Olympus software is designed to smooth users' workflow by converting the recorded file format of .hsv video files, making them MAC compatible for AVID or Final Cut use.
