IPLEX videoscope systems - ideally suited to security applications
In recent years, the need for search and bomb disposal (EOD / IEDD) has increased considerably to counter terrorist activities. In addition to the smuggling of drugs, illegal aliens and other contraband, the threat of terrorism has now extended beyond Government personnel to many other organisations and individuals, often uninvolved in political or military matters.
Portability is obviously important in security applications, and Olympus Industrial has a wide selection of lightweight, compact, yet versatile portable systems, designed for rapid deployment. Products such as the IPLEX MXR videoscope offer a total system solution incorporating digital image recording and management capabilities, for reporting or evidence gathering purposes.
The Olympus Industrial range of RVI security products includes videoscopes, flexible fiberscopes, rigid borescopes, special mini-scopes for lock inspections, telescopic infrared CCTV systems, purpose-designed search kits and basic mirror products to enable more rapid and effective inspections. Search of buildings, vehicles, ships, aircraft and freight, in fact any difficult to access areas, can be carried out efficiently and with minimal disruption using Olympus equipment to
produce real time visual images.

High speed video cameras have traditionally been used for ballistics research at the high end, but the advent of digital technology, coupled with the unique Olympus Controller Display Unit (CDU) has made i-SPEED more accessible to a wider group. Olympus i-SPEED cameras are used by military institutions and commercial suppliers alike to view missile launch, flight and impact. They are also used for research into weapon kinematics, terminal ballistics and protective equipment and shielding for personnel, transportation and buildings. High speed cameras are also used in forensic science to study projectiles, powder spray patterns, "spatter" patterns and impact analysis. HyGe rated cameras are available for customers concerned with protecting the cameras from the effects of blast waves. Multiple camera synchronisation is available to generate different views of the same event or even for production of 3D imaging.
